Hello, I am Alan Summerford. Our Beef Cattle Operation was established in 1940 by my great grandfather Robert A. Summerford. I grew up on the family farm just like my father, Robert A. Summerford II, and his father, Bobby Summerford. Over the years we have raised many types of cattle from commercially crossed cattle to registered Beefmasters, Charolais, and Angus. I have worked and lived on the farm my entire life, except for the four years I attended Auburn University. While at Auburn, I received a B.S. degree majoring in Agricultural Business and Economics, with a minor in Animal Science. During that time I took a course on Meat Science, where I learned the entire process of the pasture to plate concept. With this experience and knowledge we can assure you that our animals are handled with care to provide a wholesome, safe premium beef that you can't buy at the grocery store.
